What Is AI Doing to Math?

Over the course of 2026, AI has advanced from being a mathematician’s assistant to, in some cases, doing the majority of the work behind important new discoveries. What does this mean for formal mathematics as a discipline?

In this episode of Wading Through AI, Demetri walks Casey through three recent high-profile results made possible by the use of AI, and discusses the potential impact of this new level of automation on the field going forward.

As always, the art for the thumbnail, podcast cover, and banner of Wading Through AI were all hand-drawn by Anna Rettberg in her signature style. We do not currently use generative AI here at Molly Rocket .
